If you do not already have a library card, you can register online for an e-card number (also called a PACREG #) through Online Registration (opens new window). Out-of-state residents, please see information about out-of-state cards and fees before registering online.
After you register online, you will be assigned a Baltimore County Public Library e-card number giving you limited privileges. You will be able to place a hold request on materials through the library catalog, use our online research databases and other selected electronic resources. PACREG e-cards do not work with cloudLibrary or RBDigital (formerly Zinio) downloadable materials.
To get a permanent library card with full borrowing privileges, you must visit in person any Baltimore County Public Library branch or any Mobile Library Services bookmobile stop. (Current photo ID required.) Library cards are not mailed or available online. We strongly recommend that if you have holds on or checked out OverDrive eBooks or audiobooks that you wait to get a permanent card until these items are returned.
