Q. How do I reset my library account password or PIN?

Both password and library card (barcode) number are needed to log into your library account. If you have forgotten your password, follow the steps below to reset it.  

• Go to www.bcpl.info 

• Select the Account tab. 

• Select the Log in button, which takes you to the account login page. 

• Select the Forgot your password? link below the password field. 

• Enter your account number (aka barcode or e-card number) and submit. 

• VERY IMPORTANT - You will see a false ERROR message that says, "You must be in the library to use this resource."

• Ignore that message! Close that tab or window then check your email. You should get an email to reset your password despite the error message.

• BCPL PIN/password rules:

  • Minimum of 4 characters long.
  • Maximum of 16 characters. 
  • Can include (but does not have to include) capital letters, lowercase letters, and numbers.
  • Cannot contain any special keyboard characters or spaces. 

• Open the email and click on the link in the email to reset your password. 

• The link expires 60 minutes after it was sent. Be sure to check your SPAM folder if you don’t see the email in your inbox within 15 minutes.
