For purposes of protecting your privacy, a record of all titles checked out by you is not kept automatically by our circulation system.

You can choose to turn on your own password-protected "reading history" so that you can keep a list of materials that you have borrowed on a specific library card. This list is kept as part of your library account.

Follow these steps to turn on the reading history option:

1)  Visit the library's homepage at http://www.bcpl.info.

2)  Click on  "Account" (https://catalog.bcpl.lib.md.us/polaris/logon.aspx) and Login using your library card number (barcode) without spaces and your library PIN/password.  Your PIN/password was originally set to be the last four digits of the phone number that we have on file for you.

3)  In your account, click on the "Contact Information and Preferences" button at the bottom.

4)  You should see a "Maintain reading history" checkbox under Preferences. Simply put a check in this box and then click “Submit Change Request” button.

This feature will add a "Reading History" to your library account information. The list will begin with the next items that you check out.

Once set look for a link to your Reading History on the left of your library account. The library will maintain a record of up to one thousand titles for up to one year so that you can easily remember what you have checked out recently.
