Baltimore County Public Library offers in-branch access only to the Ancestry Library Edition database. For branch hours, locations, etc. see http://www.bcpl.info/hours-locations/#neighborhood under Hours/Locations from our home page.
From home, work or a BCPL branch, you can use HeritageQuest Online, another genealogy database which includes U.S. Census records plus some full-text family and local histories.
We also provide online databases of current and historical newspapers, including the Baltimore Sun (1837 to present) and the Baltimore Afro American (1893 – 1988). These databases can be used from home, work or at a branch.
To access these databases you must have a valid BCPL library card (see https://bcpl.libanswers.com/faq/74840) and password (see http://bcpl.libanswers.com/faq/74863 about passwords)
Links to our online databases are found in the Research Databases and Tools section under the Find Info area of our home page at http://www.bcpl.info. When the dropdown menu appears, click on Genealogy or Magazines and Newspapers as appropriate.
For an alphabetical title list of all our online databases, select Databases A-Z. Direct link to alphabetical list of all databases: http://catalog.bcpl.lib.md.us/polaris/Search/misc/esources.aspx?Category=80
Or, for a list by subject, select Databases by Subject. Direct link to subject list: http://www.bcpl.info/find-info/databases
