To get started, you need your library card number and library PIN/password. Go to BCPL's Kanopy website and select "Add a Library Card" then follow the prompts to create a Kanopy account (email and password). Kanopy passwords must be at least 6 characters long.

See step-by-step instructions for creating your Kanopy account here

Questions or difficulties? Visit the Kanopy Help Center for more information.

The Kanopy collection includes classic and popular movies, kids content (movies, TV shows and animated books), documentaries, indie, and foreign films, Great Courses and other educational videos. To find the Kids section, log in, then select the word KIDS at the top, right side of the screen.

While the kids content is unlimited, all the other content is viewed based on a ticket system. Each library card/account gets 45 tickets per month and each video you watch will deduct from your amount of tickets. Not all videos cost the same amount of tickets and shorter videos tend to cost less tickets than the longer, feature films. Your tickets should reset on the first day of the month to 45. Unused tickets will not roll over to the next month. See How Kanopy Tickets Work for more details.

Mobile apps

You must create your Kanopy account using your library card and BCPL's Kanopy website before trying to install and activate any of the mobile apps.

Kanopy has mobile apps for Android, Kindle Fire and Apple/iOS devices and some TV apps such as Apple TV and Roku. See this link for all the Kanopy supported TV apps
