Open Libby and remove the BCPL library card listed there by following the steps below to remove your card then add it back in. This should not delete your Holds, Loans or Timeline (reading history).

  • Tap the middle icon.
  • Tap Manage Cards.
  • Tap Actions.
  • Tap Remove Card.
  • Fully power off the device for at least one minute, power back on, and connect to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Open Libby, tap the middle icon and tap 'Add a Card'. Enter your card number without any spaces between the numbers.
  • Tap 'Search for a Library' and type in 'Baltimore County Public Library' as your library system. Do no enter 'BCPL' or your zip code, and don't let it guess your library.
  • Now you should see a list of Baltimore County Public Library branches. It does not matter which Baltimore County Public Library branch you pick, as long as it's a BCPL branch.
  • If that doesn't solve the problem, try these steps:
  • Delete the Libby app from your device. This should not delete your loans and holds as long as you log back in with the same card number you used to borrow the loans or place the holds.
  • Close all your other open apps on the device.
  • Fully power off your device for at least 2-3 minutes.
  • Power back on and connect to your Wi-Fi network. You can use a cellular connection but if you have a Wi-Fi network it is best to use Wi-Fi.
  • Go to your app store, search for Libby by OverDrive, install it and follow the prompts to log in, making sure to type in 'Baltimore County Public Library' as your library system. Do no enter 'BCPL' or your zip code and don't let it guess your library.
