The New York Times (NYT), Wall Street Journal (WSJ), and Washington Post (WP) have time limits on their access and you must create an account (email and password) to access them. When the time limits expire you must go to BCPL's website and reauthenticate by accessing each database and logging into your library account. Then you will be prompted to log into your your NYT, WSJ or WP account.
The Time limits are:
- NYT - 3 days/ 72 hours
- WSJ - 3 days/ 72 hours
- WP - 7 days
Mobile Apps:
The Wall Street Journal's (WSJ) mobile app does not work with the library's subscription.
After customers create their New York Times and/or Washington Post accounts using BCPL's website, these two mobile apps can be installed and accessed. But after the time limit has past, reauthentication cannot be completed using the mobile apps. It must be done via BCPL's website (every 3 days for NYT and every 7 days for WP). After going through the library's Research Databases page or Digital Library page and logging into a library account and accessing the NYT or WP online, the apps can be accessed again. But the apps can take a few to catch up so it's best to wait a few minutes before opening the apps. You may be prompted to log into the apps again. You may also see ads trying to get you to pay for a subscription. These ads can usually be dismissed.
