If you have a Baltimore County Public Library card, you can use the Libby mobile app, libbyapp.com website, or the OverDrive website (bcplinfo.overdrive.com) to access OverDrive materials. Sora is only available for students. But if you are already a student of a school that utilizes Sora and you also have a BCPL card, you should be able to add the BCPL card (as a second library card) to your Sora app.
To add BCPL in the Sora app:
- Click or tap the main menu icon
. - Select Add library.
- Use the search box to find and select BCPL. The library will open in the Explore tab and be saved so you can get back to it later.
You will be asked to log in the first time you try to borrow a book or place a hold using the BCPL account/card. If applicable, you may be prompted to select your library branch before entering your library card information. If you can complete this action, you can switch between libraries (card numbers) in Sora by selecting a library from the menu or from the drop-down at the top of the Explore tab.
If you borrow a book on the BCPL card that is the card you must use if you want to renew it. But that can only be done if there are no holds on it. If there are holds then the renew button will not appear for that title. If there are no holds then the renew button will appear 3 days before the loan expires. If they borrow it on their school account then they must use that account to renew it.
