There are two options.

You could use an app to pass the library barcode through to your Apple Wallet. Apps like Pass2U Wallet or NeatPass can be used for this purpose.

To use Pass2U Wallet, you enter your library card number in the Pass2U Wallet app, then it sends it to your Apple Wallet. Unfortunately, once your at a library branch, you can't scan that barcode at our Self-Check Out machines, at least not yet. But you can find the card in your Apple Wallet and manually enter your library card number (14 digits) on the Self Check-Out screen or give it to a staff member who can enter it manually. That's handy if you don't have your card with you but not as handy as if you could just scan it.

On the other hand, we have the B Mobile library app, which will store your library card number/barcode and will allow you to check out library items when you are at any BCPL branch using the app (as long as your card is entered in the app). To find and use it, see How to Use the B Mobile App

If you want to use Pass2Wallet then search for it in your app store and/or see this link to How To Geek's site and skip down to the What About Unsupported Cards? section for more information. FYI, I installed that app and was able to add my card. I have some loyalty/rewards cards added, as well.
