Baltimore County Public Library offers Ancestry Library Edition and HeritageQuest genealogy databases.
Ancestry can only be accessed in a BCPL branch. For branch hours, locations, etc. see https://www.bcpl.info/locations/index.html
HeritageQuest, can be accessed from home, work or from any branch.
BCPL also provides access to the ProQuest: Current and Historic Newspapers databases, which includes the Baltimore Sun (1837 to present) and the Baltimore Afro American (1893 – 1988). The newspaper databases can also be used from home, work or at a branch.
To access the databases you must have a valid BCPL library card (see https://bcpl.libanswers.com/faq/74840) and know your library password (see http://bcpl.libanswers.com/faq/74863) for info about passwords.
To access the Research Databases page (http://www.bcpl.info/find-info/databases) from our home page (http://www.bcpl.info) select the Books and More tab > Research Databases.
