Volunteering throughout the year ...
Contact the Volunteer Coordinator at the BCPL branches where you would like to volunteer. The branches cannot guarantee that there will be work available at all times and are under no obligation to accept volunteers. The branch's Volunteer Coordinator can also address whether they can help you get service learning hours or fulfill court-ordered community service hours. Students should check first with their school to be certain that the library is an acceptable choice for fulfilling their required volunteer (service learning) hours.
Volunteering for Summer @ Your Library ...
Summer @ Your Library volunteers must be students entering grades 7 to 10 in the school year following the summer during which they will volunteer. These volunteers help promote the program, sign-up children and give out stickers and prizes, and more. Registration for volunteering begins in early April of each year. Contact the branch you want to volunteer at for details during the month of March.
