Q. How do I get ebooks on my Nook?

If you have a NOOK, BCPL has ebooks available for it. But the type and model of NOOK you have will determine exactly how you go about downloading titles from either Cloud Library or OverDrive.

Notice for NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet owners: As of March 15, 2016, Barnes & Noble no longer supporting these older NOOK tablets and the B&N app store was closed. This means NOOK Color and NOOK Tablet owners will no longer be able to download or update the OverDrive or Cloud Library apps. Consequently, these devices must be used the same way you would use an eReader with Cloud Library or OverDrive. Titles must be downloaded to a computer first then transferred to the NOOK using the needed software or application for Windows or Mac computers.

Cloud Library

NOOK HD, HD+, or NOOK by Samsung tablets: Get the CL App

For NOOK Tablet 7", NOOK Tablet 10.1", and Samsung Galaxy Tab NOOKs, NOOK HD and HD+, install the CL app via the Cloud Library website or via the Google Play store on the device. 

Older NOOK tablets (NOOK Color or NOOK Tablet): No CL App / App Will Not Work, Use as an eReader Instead

The CL app is no longer available for NOOK Color or NOOK Tablet. To access CL ebooks you must use these devices as an eReader. Install the Cloud Library app on a Windows or Mac computer, download ebook titles to the CL app on a computer, then attach the NOOK to the computer with a USB cable and transfer the titles to the device.

If you already have the CL app installed on a NOOK tablet or NOOK Color, it may continue to work for a while. However, apps for these devices are no longer being supported by B&N or Cloud Library so at some point the app will fail. When that happens, use the device like an eReader. First install the CL app on a Windows or Mac computer, browse, check out and download titles using the CL app on the computer. Next attach the NOOK with a USB cable to the computer, and transfer titles to the NOOK.

NOOK eReaders (Simple Touch or GlowLight):

For NOOK eReader users, install the Cloud Library app on a Windows or Mac computer then use that to browse, check out, download and transfer ebooks to your NOOK eReader.

OverDrive

NOOK HD, HD+, and NOOK by Samsung tablets: Get the App

NOOK Tablet 7", NOOK Tablet 10.1", and Samsung Galaxy Tab NOOKs, use the Libby app or the original OverDrive app via the Google Play store on the device.

NOOK HD and HD+, use only the original OverDrive app via the Google Play store on the device.

Older NOOK tablets (NOOK Color or NOOK Tablet) and NOOK eReaders (Simple Touch or GlowLight):  No App / App will not work, use as an e-Reader

If you're using an older NOOK tablet (NOOK Color or NOOK Tablet) you can no longer install the OverDrive app on your device. Instead, you must use your NOOK Color or NOOK Tablet as an eReader. If you have a NOOK eReader (Simple Touch or GlowLight) follow the same procedure. See the links below for more detailed instructions.
