Baltimore County Public Library no longer offers the Red Cross babysitting classes. The classes were provided through a generous grant from the Baltimore County Local Management Board, but their grant funding has been reduced.

The Red Cross still offers babysitting training through other organizations. The Red Cross website at http://www.redcross-cmd.org/class_result.asp?tipo=359&SN=6071&OP=6073&IDCapitulo=JGT8BU44VP

gives information about when and where their classes are being held.  Click the “Search Available Classes” link to find locations and dates.

Please Note: State Law requires children under the age of 8 must be in the care of someone 13 years or older.

The following organizations sometimes offer classes for training babysitters:

St. Agnes Hospital Super Babysitter Class information is at http://www.stagnes.org/index.php/events-classes. Click on Teen Classes as a topic. Classes are for youth 11 and 12 years old who are interested in working as Mother's helpers as well as those 13 years and older who will be babysitting on their own. Phone:  1-866-690-9355

Babysitter/CPR First Aid Training by Real Life CPR http://www.reallifecpr.com/ sometimes offers courses through the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland. Usually students who are not members of a Girl Scout Council may pay a one-time registration fee to the Girl Scouts, which allows them to take classes offered through Girl Scouts.  Contact the Girl Scouts  and ask them when the next class might be scheduled and if you can register for it.
