PressReader includes the Baltimore Sun and about 7000 other newspapers. You will need your BCPL library card number and PIN/password to access the database. 

  • Start by going to BCPL's home page at www.bcpl.info
  • Select the Books and More tab.
  • Select Research Databases
  • Look to the left in the Database Categories box and click on/select Subject and a sub-menu will drop down.
  • Click/check mark the box to select Newspapers and Magazines.​
  • Scroll down the alphabetized list and select PressReader.
  • You should be prompted to log into your library account at this point. Enter your card number and library PIN/password.
  • You should land on the PressReader main page.
  • There may be a pop up window with a Select a Publication button. Click that button to make that screen disappear.
  • Use the Search tool and type in Baltimore Sun or click the Sign In button, then select the 'New User? Sign Up' button to create an account. Creating an account allows you to mark your favorite newspaper and magazine titles so you won't have to search for them next time you log in.
  • Mobile App for Android or iOS:
    • Search your app store for pressreader and install.
    • Tap the 'Sign in' icon then select the 'Libraries and Groups' button on the sign in screen.
    • Tap 'Select a Library'. 
    • The app may ask you to allow it to find your location. 
    • If you said OK, and Baltimore County Public Library does not come up in the list, then tap the Search field and enter Baltimore County then it should come up as a selection.
    • Tap Baltimore County Public Library and tap the Sign In button. 
    • Enter your library card number and library PIN.
