All customers’ records are confidential. This policy is in place to protect the privacy of our customers and to guard against any possibility of identity theft.
Please visit a Baltimore County Public Library branch and show valid identification to get information about your or your child's account.
Branch staff will provide information about a customer’s own record only to the card holder. However, a parent or guardian of a child age 17 or younger may request information from their child’s card even if the child is not present.
Account requests by telephone or email:
Customers who request their or their child's account information (this includes hold request information) by telephone or email must provide their or the child's library card number, name and additional identification information (driver’s license #, address, birth date, etc.) as it appears in their account. Email replies will be sent only to the email address registered in the account.
Customers may check an account online using the ACCOUNT tab and entering the library card number (barcode) and the PIN/password for that account. For more information on checking a library account see http://bcpl.libanswers.com/faq/74850
